Comme le Fer, il forme des complexes tr\u00e8s stables et participe aux r\u00e9actions de transfert d&#8217;\u00e9lectrons. Plus de 98% du Cu des plantes est pr\u00e9sent sous forme complex\u00e9e et les concentrations de Cu2+ et Cu+ libres sont extr\u00eamement faibles dans le cytoplasme.
