Applying <strong data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"495\">plant biostimulants<\/strong> is a sustainable strategy to improve growth, ornamental quality, and resilience under these challenging conditions. Protein hydrolysates (PHs) are a particularly effective type of biostimulant for bedding plants.<\/p><p data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"1282\"><strong data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"772\">Enhancing Bedding Plant Growth with Protein Hydrolysates<\/strong><br data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"775\" \/>This study assessed four concentrations of the protein hydrolysate \u201cTrainer\u201d (0, 1, 3, or 5 mL L\u207b\u00b9) on three common bedding plants: <em data-start=\"907\" data-end=\"929\">Begonia tuberhybrida<\/em>, <em data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"953\">Pelargonium peltatum<\/em>, and <em data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"974\">Viola cornuta<\/em>. The results showed that <strong data-start=\"1000\" data-end=\"1046\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hello-nature.com\/int\/biostimulants-psp\/\">biostimulants<\/a> improve bedding plant growth<\/strong>, although responses varied by species. In <em data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1111\">Pelargonium peltatum<\/em>, 1 mL L\u207b\u00b9 significantly increased plant height, canopy volume, leaf area, and flower number. <em data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1220\">Viola cornuta<\/em> exhibited more limited responses at the same concentration.<\/p><p data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1695\"><strong data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1347\">Physiological and Nutritional Advantages for Bedding Plants<\/strong><br data-start=\"1347\" data-end=\"1350\" \/>Protein hydrolysate treatments also influenced leaf gas exchange, including net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, and transpiration. The observed growth improvements in <em data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1536\">Pelargonium<\/em> and <em data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1550\">Begonia<\/em> were linked to higher total nitrogen and nitrate content, demonstrating that <strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1692\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hello-nature.com\/int\/biostimulants-psp\/\">biostimulants<\/a> support nutrient uptake and metabolic activity<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"2249\"><strong data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"1753\">Practical Benefits of Biostimulants in Urban Gardens<\/strong><br data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"1756\" \/>Overall, using biostimulants helps <strong data-start=\"1791\" data-end=\"1828\">enhance bedding plant performance<\/strong> by improving growth, leaf function, nutrient accumulation, and ornamental traits. For gardeners and horticulturists, protein hydrolysates provide a practical and sustainable tool to maintain healthy and attractive bedding plants in urban and peri-urban gardens.
