High-quality transplants are essential for optimal yield, and recent studies show that protein hydrolysates (PH) and the beneficial fungus <em data-start=\"589\" data-end=\"613\">Trichoderma atroviride<\/em> significantly improve plant health. However, the best rates and methods to maximize these benefits were not fully known.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"738\" data-end=\"797\">Optimal Biostimulant Rates for Vegetable Transplants<\/h4><p data-start=\"798\" data-end=\"1225\">The research aimed to determine the best use of a microgranular-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hello-nature.com\/int\/biostimulants-psp\/\">biostimulant<\/a> containing vegetal-derived PH and <em data-start=\"915\" data-end=\"940\">T. atroviride MUCL45632<\/em> for lettuce and tomato transplants. <strong data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"993\">Experiment 1<\/strong> showed that mixing microgranular PH into the substrate before sowing increased shoot fresh and dry biomass, root dry weight, root-to-shoot ratio, leaf nitrogen content, and chlorophyll levels. The most effective rate was 2 g L\u22121.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1227\" data-end=\"1277\">Synergistic Effects of PH and <em data-start=\"1262\" data-end=\"1275\">Trichoderma<\/em><\/h4><p data-start=\"1278\" data-end=\"1548\">Subsequent experiments tested combining <em data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1333\">T. atroviride<\/em> with PH in liquid or microgranular form. Liquid PH combined with <em data-start=\"1399\" data-end=\"1412\">Trichoderma<\/em> improved shoot fresh biomass more effectively. In contrast, microgranular PH with <em data-start=\"1495\" data-end=\"1508\">Trichoderma<\/em> promoted better root-to-shoot ratios.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1550\" data-end=\"1594\">Long-Term Soil and Microbial Benefits<\/h4><p data-start=\"1595\" data-end=\"1779\">Laboratory studies confirmed that PH applied to sandy soil enhanced <em data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"1676\">Trichoderma<\/em> colony growth and respiration for several days, demonstrating a lasting effect on soil microbiology.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1781\" data-end=\"1825\">Practical Recommendations for Growers<\/h4><p data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"2263\">Overall, <strong data-start=\"1835\" data-end=\"1881\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hello-nature.com\/int\/biostimulants-psp\/\">biostimulants<\/a> enhance vegetable transplant<\/strong> growth by improving root and shoot development, nitrogen uptake, and chlorophyll content. Mixing microgranules containing PH and <em data-start=\"2011\" data-end=\"2026\">T. atroviride<\/em> at 2 g L\u22121 into the substrate before sowing is the most effective method.
